All Saints Hospital, Eastbourne

This Grade II* listed building is situated in the Meads Conservation Area in Eastbourne, East Sussex. The building was due to be closed and so plans came about to redevelop the existing site.

The redevelopment involved the conversion of the main building into 53 new apartments and the retention of the existing Chapel. Sympathetic restoration and replacement of the natural stone work was required where the original features had been subject to damage from weathering.

South West Stone Masonry Ltd carried out several site surveys, took profiles of the existing features and produced working drawings for approval in order to replicate the existing detail in our Workshops.

The final scope of works involved the supply of features to in excess of 30 different windows. The work ranged from entire replication of 6 large bath stone tracery windows, to production of replacement columns, loggia piers and arch stones.
